How to make egg chicks for Easter

Use fake eggs to make fluffy Easter chick decorations by following this super simple tutorial.

I really wanted to make some egg chicks for Easter, using my huge stack of fake eggs.  Pickle asked why there was no Daddy chick (I’d made one big and two little ones).  Thinking fast, I told him that Daddy chick was at work!

How-to make egg chicks for Easter:

  1. Paint your egg yellow (if using papier mache eggs), or cover them in yellow tissue paper using watered-down PVA glue and leave to dry.
  2. Use your hot glue gun to stick a folded diamond of orange foam (or card) to the smaller end of your egg, making a beak.
  3. Stick your googly eyes above the beak.
  4. Use your hot glue gun again to stick feather wings to either side of the egg chick and a smaller feather sticking up at the back to make a tail.
  5. OPTIONAL: If you want to hang your finished chicks to make an Easter display, use a needle to thread a loop and tie the ends together.
