Decorate a robot craft idea (with free printable)

Need a robot craft activity that will keep the kids busy for at least 30 minutes, but don’t want loads of prep or to clear up for hours afterwards?
Here’s your answer (includes free printable)…

I’m always on the hunt for new craft ideas for kids.  Sometimes I just want a quick, easy, low-effort craft activity for the boys.  This robot craft would be great for a play date or party as it requires very little set-up or cleaning up afterwards!

For this robot craft, you will need:

  • print-outs of this basic robot template (with many thanks to SweetClipArt, whose design I adapted for this)
  • shiny, sparkly and/or puffy stickers for the buttons and antennae in various colours and sizes

COST: a few quid
AGE: toddlers
TIME: 30 minutes

Pickle (2 and a half) really enjoyed this one.  He sang ‘twinkle twinkle’ as soon as he saw the stars and he was very pleased when he worked out how to take the backing paper off the stickers all on his own.  He kept saying ‘this is the sticky side, mummy’!  I did let Chops (15 months) explore the stickers too, but as they very quickly went into his mouth, I think he is still a bit young for this one…

Pickle finished his robot with a line of silver dot stickers, which he explained: “That’s the robot’s belt, mummy.”  Of course I couldn’t resist having a try myself!

This is a lovely ideas! We haven’t done any crafts with the my little girl for a very long time! The last time when we did crafts together we used glue and paint and unfortunately there was a lot of cleaning that had to be done after. I would like to do something that will not make too much dirt after this and this craft idea is very nice! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

      Thanks Jenny!

It is really good to have a no-mess craft sometimes isn’t it? Especially for a group craft play date, otherwise it can get disastrous… 😉
